Koh Rong experiences a tropical monsoon climate with two distinct seasons:
Dry Season (November – April/Early May): This is the peak tourist season, offering warm, sunny days (around 25-35°C), low humidity, and calm seas. December to February are generally the most pleasant months with the least rain and humidity. March and April get progressively hotter and more humid.
Wet Season (Mid-May – October/Early November): Characterized by higher humidity and more frequent, often heavy, but usually short, bursts of rain. Seas can be rougher, impacting some water activities. While it’s generally less ideal for constant sunshine, you can find fewer crowds and lower prices. September is typically the wettest month.
Temperatures remain consistently warm year-round, but humidity levels are the main variable, being lowest in the dry season and highest in the wet season (particularly April and May).
